Job Description

If you enjoy a multi-functional position, have exceptional oral communication and customer service skills, this may be the position for you! The Legislative Affairs Agency, Supply Section, is recruiting for a Supply Clerk.
Examples Of Duties
  • Lifts and moves office furniture and equipment as requested.
  • Lifts, carries, and stacks paper, supplies and materials.
  • Packs, moves, and unloads state property as requested.
  • Maintains supply shelves and storage areas.
  • Issues and delivers office supplies to legislators and legislative staff.
  • Performs basic maintenance on copiers and other office equipment.
  • Assists annual property inventory by inspecting property tags on existing equipment and
affixing property tags to new equipment.
  • Assist in the Capitol Mailroom as needed.
  • Assist with data entry and updating of property inventory records as needed.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to operate and perform light maintenance on copiers, fax machines, audio/visual
  • Knowledge of general office equipment and office supplies.

We are currently filling this position at a 37.5 workweek, however, the successful candidate will be required to work a 40 hour workweek after July 10, 2023.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Alaska driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • An average of 21 days per year of accrued leave. The State offers paid leave starting at 6:04 h:mm a pay period or 21 days a year. If you have previous time working for either the Executive or Judicial branch in a leave eligible position, the time will be calculated into your accrual rate.
  • The Alaska State Legislature has an onsite daycare with priority given to legislative employees' children.
  • The potential for flexible work schedules during interim when the legislature is not in session.

  • Agency staff may accrue as compensatory time up to 150 hours of hours worked over the standard work week. There is no cash value to compensatory time.
