Job Description

:

DSJ is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Supply Chain to join our aerospace organization based in Connecticut. As the Director of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient and timely flow of materials and components for our aerospace products.


Responsibilities:

  • Logistics and distribution: Coordinate logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure on-time delivery of materials and products. Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes to streamline operations and reduce transportation costs.
  • Risk management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions in the supply chain. Implement robust risk assessment processes and contingency plans to minimize the impact of unforeseen events.
  • Inventory management: Oversee inventory planning and management activities, including forecasting, demand planning, and inventory optimization. Implement strategies to minimize inventory holding costs while ensuring adequate stock levels to meet production requirements.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies: Design and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Supplier management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate supplier capabilities, ensure timely delivery of materials, and resolve any supply chain issues.


Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing supply chain strategies to drive operational efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Solid understanding of supplier management, contract negotiations, and supplier performance evaluation.
