Job Description
General Purpose
Ensure that materials, and supplies are available to meet production requirements as well as provide oversight to ensure that all inventory records are accurately reported, consistent, and up to date. Hire, train, and communicate the expectations of Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. in all areas of safety, quality, productivity, and profitability to the employees reporting to the Inventory Control Supervisor. Own the order fulfillment process for site sales orders for fluid and dry products.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Maintain SAP and ensure accurate and in real time state for 3PL
  • Assume responsibility for the attainment of plant goals and objectives. Make decisions in a timely manner
  • Work directly with customers to resolve issues, answer questions, and respond to customer concerns with the understanding that the customer is the first priority
  • Process warehouse transfers. Rework production documentation, damaged bag inventory transactions
  • Create and publish weekly, monthly and annual inventory reports both internally and externally
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area throughout the facility and common areas
  • Safeguard and protect all company assets and proprietary information
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
  • Communicate and aggressively pursue cost reductions in all areas relating to materials usage
  • Monitors inventory of finished good to ensure all customers orders are filled. FIFO
  • Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
  • Directly responsible for the supervision of the warehouse production worker including training, scheduling, day to day operations and disciplinary procedures
  • Cycle count determination and reconcile with the accounting group
  • Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
  • Annual Record Retention
  • Ensure powder summary, warehouse log and all other logs match SAP
  • Participation in Compliance Audits as needed
  • Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly at designated intervals
  • Put raw orders in the system
  • Work with customer representative and distribution center representatives to ensure customer satisfaction is met regarding timely and accuracy of powder shipments
  • Anticipate problems, implement solutions, and look for continuous improvement/process improvement opportunities
  • Fix process orders
  • Follow all Dairy Farmers of America procedures and practices: Safety, Quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
  • Work with S&OP group to ensure finished goods inventory is available to meet customer needs
  • Assist in setting up transportation for special shipments
  • Participate in leadership training and projects as assigned
  • Ship out orders in SAP and ensure they match 3PL’s BOL’s
  • Coordinate and communicate all information necessary relating to the usage of materials and/or bulk product in the production of finished product and understand each step of product flow throughout entire facility
  • Ensure all undergrade is offered up
  • Maintain an accurate inventory and order processing of assigned products produced by the plant
  • Prepares inventory reports of ingredients and packaging components
  • Investigate issues with process orders, packaging, finished goods inventory
  • Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
  • Schedule all dry goods shipments to 3PL

  • Be on-call 24x7 as customer and plant needs arise
  • Perform yield variance and detailed reporting
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments and peers
  • Reporting month end reports to accountants
  • Prepare customer orders, coordinate and schedule shipments, and ensure on-time delivery of finished goods
  • Check daily, weekly and monthly inventories against all systems to make sure that all agree
  • Place Purchase orders and manage inventory of all product purchased for resale
  • Prepares balancing and manufacturing summary reports, reviews and posts daily production results; disseminates reports to appropriate personnel for review
  • Ability to back out of liquid and powder shipments
Education and Experience
  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
  • 3 years Inventory control experience preferred
  • License and/or Certification – None
  • Supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
  • Able to adapt and manage to change effectively

Travel
☒ 5%-15% (1-3 times per year)

Salary range - $57,904-$82,513 (based on experience)
