Superintendent Of Train Operations

We are looking for a Superintendent of Train Operations for our Camden, NJ location.

Your role as Superintendent of Train Operations shall be primarily responsible for coordinating and integrating service and operations.

The Superintendent of Train Operations shall arrange daily and weekly meetings, electronic and telephone communications, and site visits; and shall establish a protocol for 24-hour/ 7-days a week emergency contact. This individual shall arrange for regular delivery and internal distribution of daily bulletins, special instructions, division notices, or any other publication of operating information issued by any potential clients.

Job Requirements:

• Performs operational audits on the train service and the operating crews. Ensures that all crew related incidents are properly reported and investigated with appropriate action taken to prevent a recurrence with full report to the General Manager.
• The Superintendent of Train Operations shall serve as an emergency point-of-contact and be on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Should the Transportation Superintendent be temporarily unavailable, another individual shall be temporarily designated who can be contacted.
• Ensures that a training/refresher program is developed and in place to upgrade and/or maintain a high level of competence for LRV operators. Provides leadership and direction to subordinate Supervisors on all train operations.
• Coordinates activities with the Operations Subcontractor in order to maintain a high level train service, customer service and employee compliance and competency.
• Assesses all train performance reports and interfaces regularly with host railways rail traffic control centers as well as railway operating officers to ensure coordination and daily performance of train operations and to immediately respond and correct deviations to the operating plan.
• Directs all transportation activities to ensure safe, prompt and courteous service to potential clients in accordance with corporate policies, practices, government regulations, the potential client’s Rules and special instructions.

Qualifications:

• 5 Years in Management, NORAC Rules Qualified, Crew Management
• The Superintendent of Train Operations shall have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, and 10 years of combined experience in commuter rail and freight railroad operations.
