Summer Camp Nurse Jobs

Camp Orenda is a residential summer health camp for persons with disabilities seeking empowerment, community, and a fun-filled start to the summer.

Founded in 1968 and based in Indiana, PA - Camp Orenda accommodates 20-30 campers for each of its 3 sessions. It's a home away from home and a time that is treasured and anticipated throughout the year!

Camp Orenda is currently seeking two Registered Nurses (RNs) for Day Shift (7am - 7pm) and Night Shift (7pm - 7am) positions respectively. Nurse will have plenty of breaks and downtime. Food and accommodations will be provided for all sessions.

KEY DATES

Orientation: June 17

Session 1: June 18 - June 24

Session 2: June 27 - July 3

Session 3: July 6 - July 12

Responsibilities

* Assume responsibility for the review of medical records, preparation and administration of daily medications, MARs (including off time MARs), etc. for Campers

* Ensure medications and treatments are administered safely and in compliance with proper procedures and documentation requirements

* Seek current informs on campers’/staff’s state of well-being by discussions with Camp Leadership

* Follow prescriber’s orders for medication and or treatments as well as individualized guidelines.

* Follow routine first aid/triage approach to care of campers and staff.

* Track list of Epipen users from assigned unit, and confer daily with counselors to ensure Epipen is readily available for emergency use; whether camper able to carry Epipen or counselor must carry for them.
