Our Spotlight program provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children over 3 years old in a group setting. It provides a safe and encouraging environment where the sense of belonging is cultivated, differences are celebrated, and tolerance is valued. Our groups take place in both community and Center-Based settings. We utilize the techniques and principles of ABA to bring about meaningful and positive change to socially significant behaviors. We're currently looking for Summer ABA Therapists to join our spotlight team for our 2023 summer program!
Job Summary: Oversees a group of program participants in the Spotlight 6-week summer program. Ensures the effective implementation of the program curriculum and that the needs of the participants and program are being met.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Follows Program standards relating to appropriate dress and cell phone use.
  • Establishes rapport with program participants by learning their interests.
  • Adheres to opening and closing procedures outlined by the leadership staff.
  • Attends pre-program orientation and training as well as all administrative meetings, trainings, and planning sessions as assigned.
  • Applies group management and individual intervention strategies in order to lead the group.
  • Ensures all hours worked are recorded on timesheets or entered into electronic healthcare record system and sent to Program Coordinator weekly.
  • Sets up, tests, and maintains all video game systems.
  • Attends supervision and clinical meetings with Program Leadership and Clinical Director, as requested.
  • Other duties and projects as requested.
  • Implements Behavioral Support Plans as needed for individual participants and tracks data for ABA goals and record notes in electronic healthcare record system, as requested.
  • Accounts for attendance of students at each session.
  • Implements an evidence-based ABA social skills curriculum involving dramatic training and improv games, positive social reinforcement, and age-appropriate motivators, using the principles of ABA.
  • Maintains close contact with leadership staff regarding progress and incidents during sessions.
  • Aids students in producing movie trailers.
Qualifications:
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Prior experience working with children and/or adolescents in ABA or related field strongly preferred, current college students encouraged to apply!
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • At a minimum, candidates must have completed at least one semester of college.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with youth. Strong interpersonal skills and team-building skills for working with participants, coworkers, and client families.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:15am-2:15pm (our summer program is scheduled to run July 10th-August 18th, the ideal candidate will have availability to attend orientation and trainings prior to program start date)
