Position Description


We are seeking an addiction counselor to work with criminal justice population and our outpatient team to provide addiction treatment services in the Boone County jail setting and community. This position is responsible for being the primary counselor for clients with substance use disorders and includes assessments, outpatient continued care groups, case management, and a collaborative relationship with Boone County community partners. It includes facilitation of an educational group for at risk adolescents. The ideal candidate has a passion for this population and ability to thrive in a fast pace environment. Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.


Job Requirements


  • Masters degree preferred in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field
  • Provide case management, treatment planning, and discharge planning for clients
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in addictions treatment
  • Able to conduct individual, group and family counseling sessions
  • CADC or be certified within 12 months


Preferred Qualifications


  • Adequate written skills to accurately complete required documentation within the time frames prescribed
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated education, training or experience in the criminal thinking model
  • Skilled in conducting individual, family and group counseling
  • Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff or community resources
  • Ability to work within a team


Essential Responsibilities


  • Work hours prescribed by the Team Leader and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
  • Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.
  • Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients and/or family members.
  • Present workshops, lectures and training to clients, families, staff and community groups.
  • Serve as a member of the OP Team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
  • Maintain communications with all staff (e.g. admissions, therapeutic passes, and discharge plans).
  • Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance
  • Be familiar with court proceedings and available to make court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients.
  • Undertake primary case management responsibilities for designated clients.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities per schedule or when designated.
  • Ensure that client service records are maintained consistent with required rules and regulations.


Schedule: 8 hour shifts


  • Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
