Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Assists in meeting the needs of patients and families with issues of chemical dependency and addiction. Recognizes and teaches signs and symptoms of abuse, intoxication, withdrawal and addiction. Teaches addictive, recovery and relapse processes. Attends interdisciplinary team meetings and gives recommendations. Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Social Sciences or Drug and Alcohol Technology from an accredited institution

Experience: Prefer experience in mental health setting

License/Registration: Certification in substance abuse or obtained within 12 months of hire. Must be CPI certified.

Other: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with psychiatric patients.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires range of motion within functional limits. Frequent sitting, walking, standing. Functional vision and hearing. Carrying 15 pounds. Occasional bending/stretching.
