Job Description
The Student Services Clerk is responsible for the maintenance of student records in the Student Services office, including ensuring the accuracy of state and local data, forms and special education records. Other responsibilities include managing and organizing student Special Education files, procedures related to Medicaid tracking and Medicaid funding. This position is year-round, union position, part of the Paraprofessional bargaining unit. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: ?Organize and maintain office records for ready accessibility.
?Responsible for the Special Education referral and tracking system, and state census data. ?Prepares special education files for transfer out of the district or transfer into the district. ?Maintains and files student records.?Ability to learn and navigate the districts student information system and special education module?Responsible for service tracking of all students eligible for Medicaid?Answers the telephone, screens calls, refers calls and takes messages. ?Responsible for the maintenance of accurate confidential records pertaining to students receiving special education and their families.
?Interacts with parents/guardians respectfully. Familiarity with the ASPEN SIS platform and the special education module/ elements of ASPEN preferred.?Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Student ServicesQUALIFICATIONS: ?High School Diploma, college degree preferred.?Demonstrated proficiency with computer technology and software required, preferably Microsoft Word, Excel and Google applications. ?Knowledge of Special Education Referral and Tracking system preferred. ?Thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures.
?Demonstrate neatness in appearance and work. ?Ability to exercise independent judgment, accuracy and thoroughness. ?High degree of patience, tact, and discretion in dealing with others ?Willingness and ability to help co-workers achieve the goals of the Student Services Office?Communication skills necessary to deal with employees, vendors, and the public, in a professional manner. Represents the district in a professional manner.?Must maintain strictest standard of confidentiality.
