As a bridge/structural engineer in our Westwood, MA office, you will be working on various projects and providing technical input on various stages of the design process. You’ll Be Undertaking All Sorts Of Duties; Actively Participating In
As a bridge / structural engineer, you will predominantly be involved with bridge projects. Still, you will also have exposure to a cross-section of other transportation projects including railways, highways, and transit, as well as pipeline services and underground structures/projects.
- Type studies and feasibility studies
- Interacting with team members and assisting in the coordination of work among engineers and detailers
- Load rating, construction monitoring, and expert opinions in the areas of quantities and cost estimating
- Field investigations, inspections, and report preparation
- Bridge design and development from preliminary design through detailed design plans and specifications
- Preparation of quantities and cost estimating
Not only will you be involved in a wide range of responsibilities as a bridge / structural engineer, but you’ll also develop your project management skills. Over time you will begin to start managing your own transportation and infrastructure projects and take a forward-facing role with the client.
Candidate Specification
We welcome applications from candidates with the following core competencies and characteristics:
- Experience working on the structural design of bridge projects
- Certification as a registered professional engineer (PE)
- Exposure to other structural projects
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/MicroStation, and other design software such as LARSA, SAP 2000, STAAD Pro, OpenBridge, CsiBridge, and MIDAS.
- A MSc is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or equivalent
