$18.80/hr Starting; $20.36/hr After Completion of Level 1 (Around 90 Days) (3rd shift)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THE STRETCH OPERATOR - 1ST SHIFT AND 3RD SHIFT POSITION IN BALL GROUND, GA:

A Day In The Life of a Stretch Operator - 1st Shift and 3rd shift

• Use and read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper
• Understand E-stop locations and what they control
• Read segment prints
• Understand hydraulic dangers
• Verify segments are correct
• Schedule and organize your work
• Sets up and operates machinery and equipment for production operations
• Perform production activities under general supervision, which require a working knowledge of various processes, operations, and machines.
• Stack segments from top to bottom
• Install segments
• Use a saw to cut material to specific lengths
• Understand safe zones
• Place scrap material in the specified bin for recycling
• Find segment prints on the computer
• Advise relevant personnel of any problems with equipment and materials
• Use a stretcher machine to pull extruded material into the tolerance
• Know weight limits
• Operate tail stock and head stock of stretch machine
• Other duties as assigned
• Fill out paperwork properly: blueprint sheet, hard card, inspector forms
• Assume up-ender heads are hot

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: HS Diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum Experience: None
• Certifications Required: Crane certification; Forklift certification; Lock-out/Tag-out certification; Pallet jack certification (certifications completed during new hire orientation)

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively listen and communicate ideas and thoughts to others; able to assimilate ideas originating from others
• Reasoning Skills: Ability to carry out and communicate written and/or oral instructions
• Physical Abilities: Regularly required to stand, walk and use hands; must be able to lift 50 pounds at any time during his/her shift; the physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
