Strategic Purchasing Specialist Jobs

We are currently seeking a procurement purchasing specialist to join a growing fortune 500 organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing procurement activities, negotiating service contracts, and ensuring efficient logistics operations within the manufacturing industry. This is a senior-level position with 3-5 years of relevant experience in indirect buying and strategic sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect categories, including maintenance suppliers, PPE, MRO, HVAC, Janitorial, Waste management, and general contractors.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, selection, and contract management to ensure cost-effectiveness and high-quality service.
• Demonstrate strong negotiation skills while engaging with suppliers to secure favorable contract terms and pricing.
• Utilize SAP to manage procurement activities efficiently.
• Lead by example, fostering a proactive and solution-oriented approach within the team.
• Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to streamline procurement activities and improve efficiency.
• Provide guidance and support to purchasing administrators and buyers at multiple plant locations (3 plants) to enhance their tactical performance.
• Collaborate with various departments and teams to ensure seamless procurement processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in procurement and strategic sourcing, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Experience in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders.
• Excellent knowledge of SAP or similar procurement software.
• Strong background in indirect buying and contract negotiation.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and lead from the front.
