We are looking for:
Veterinary Sterile Processing Technician
Our Surgery team is a fast-paced environment, perfect for veterinary professionals that are looking for training in multiple facets of the department and interaction with the other teams in the hospital. This team requires strong communication skills to liaison between surgeons and clients and deliver post-operative care instructions. The Sterile Processing Assistant performs decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of instrumentation and medical equipment for surgeries and procedures, utilizing infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process.
What you’ll do:
  • Collecting used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination
  • Accurately handle and care for instruments, including appropriate selection of cleaning agents, lubricants, examination for function, identification, and assembly
  • Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sterilization equipment
  • Assembling, disassembling, and disinfecting operating and procedure rooms
  • Opening, turning over and cleaning operating rooms, as well as cleaning instruments and wrapping packs
  • Proactive distribution of all necessary equipment and instrumentation for surgeries and procedures
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete
  • Preparing and packing decontaminated supplies for sterilization
  • Maintaining proper sterile technique
Who you are:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior veterinary experience required, previous surgery or sterile processing experience desired
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Minimum 2-year veterinary experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
