Job Description
BlueJacket Delivery LLC is an Amazon DSP (Delivery Service Partner) in the Idaho Falls, ID area seeking a full-time Amazon DSP Operations Manager! In this position, you will work directly under company ownership to lead our operation of 30-40 daily routes and our fleet of 35-50 vans. The Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight of our Amazon delivery business, ensuring efficiency, safety, and profitability in daily operations. This person will manage Driver associates, Dispatchers, and admin assistants and act as a liaison between all departments, Amazon corporate staff, quality control, and company ownership. The Operations Manager will be focused on business strategy, fleet maintenance, route planning, occupational safety, employee relations, and associate development and coaching.


Responsibilities:


  • Organize delivery routes to maximize resources, staffing and vehicle availability and profitability, adjusting temporarily or permanently as needed
  • Analyze data from reports and direct observation of employee performance to suggest and implement improvements within the organization
  • Ensure complete and accurate reporting on all vehicle accidents; file and manage insurance claims when necessary
  • Ensure that all DAs are consistently completing pre & post-trip inspections
  • Maintain vehicle paperwork and files of preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Ensure a timely dispatch daily: arrive early to perform pre-dispatch duties, manage 4 Dispatchers, collaborate with Driver Associates in the efficient loading of packages, conduct daily team meetings
  • Facilitate communication between DAs, Ops Managers in Training, HR, Amazon terminal staff and company ownership throughout the day
  • Organize and oversee proper support to all areas of operation in the case of staffing challenges, truck breakdowns, employee disputes, etc.
  • Work with HR/recruiting to remain consistently staffed with DAs
  • Maintain consistently high Amazon scorecard metrics and KPIs in all areas of company performance
  • Deliver performance reviews and constructive feedback to employees; facilitate performance improvement, disciplinary action, and termination when necessary
  • Anticipate and facilitate corrections to staffing, vehicle allocation, and route assignments based on availability of resources
  • Work with local repair shops to keep vehicles in excellent working condition
  • Champion a culture of safety through quality training and regular follow-up
  • Resolve customer service issues as necessary
  • Work with HR staff to onboard new hires and maintain up-to-date driver and HR/personnel files

Qualifiers:


  • If you do not have previous Amazon management experience, please describe other logistics or fast-paced environments you have managed (FedEx, UPS, etc) with similar sized teams
  • The position is located in Idaho Falls, ID - Must be able to reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older (for insurance purposes)
  • If no Amazon experience, logistics or a fast-paced environment such as restaurants or retail is a must
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills along with the ability to act quickly in high-pressure situations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
