Job Summary

Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Centralized Pre-Admissions (CPA)/Triage Team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a State Program Administrator Senior! This position will implement inpatient pre-admission procedures that are guided by laws, and policies for DCT. This position’s role is to develop and maintain positive, productive, and results-orientated relationships across a divergent group of people. CPA is open 24/7 because they are the single point of entry for all DCT.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Participate on Statewide committees and work groups to improve services and patient access to services.
  • Obtain, monitor, and analyze all legal, medical, and psychiatric paperwork for all inpatient referrals to determine the best program and the best location for each referral.
  • Communicate with hospitals, clinics, detox centers, jails, prisons, county case managers, tribal nations, courts, and attorneys.
  • Interpret and evaluate paperwork and identify alternatives when needed.
  • Obtain, monitor, and analyze all legal, medical, and psychiatric paperwork for all inpatient referrals to determine the best location for admission.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years professional experience in case management, social work, or related professional experience within a hospital or community setting (such as social service, community action or community service agencies or clinics) demonstrating the following experience:

  • Composing correspondence with accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Entering data accurately and in a timely manner
  • Partnering with client support systems such as treatment teams, referral agencies, case managers and community providers
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of the computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced call center environment, with high volumes of calls
  • Coordinating and prioritizing multiple priorities
  • Assessing client admissions and processing referral requests for client and/or case management services

Note: Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, sociology, psychology, counseling, social work or closely related field may substitute for 1 year of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of utilization management principles, processes, and plans, as well as a comprehensive understanding of how revenue, quality care, and resource utilization are interrelated.
  • Knowledge of treatment standards for mental illness and other disabilities.
