This positions primary purpose is to help develop and implement staffing solutions to comply with staffing needs. Responsibilities include identifying staffing needs and assisting the team in creating work schedules to fulfill employee requirements and maintain proper staffing coverage. This position works alongside the Service Coordinators and Human Resources to ensure that the entire team provides the high-quality, person-centered support for which LCE is known.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide encouragement to individuals to achieve specific skills or behaviors in areas such as independent living, socialization, meal preparation, budgeting, money management, and recreation and leisure activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Service Coordinators, Quality Assurance Director, Operations Director, Human Resources Director, or Executive Director.
  • Ensure the promotion and protection of individual human rights; ensure confidentiality of any information related to persons receiving residential support; ensure that individuals keep and maintain personal possessions; ensure that persons are free from abuse, neglect, exploitation, or punishment.
  • Monitor the activities of staff and ensure staff are completing responsibilities efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads and Service Coordinators to discuss critical team information and stay informed on programmatic updates.
  • Communicate effectively and follow instructions, as applicable, both oral and written.
  • Maintain program standards as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure and maintain proper shift coverage and scheduling needs of assigned sites.
  • Provide training for specific job functions and coaching to Direct Support Professional team members relevant to LCE policy and procedures, licensure standards, and health guidelines.
  • Attend staff meetings in conjunction with the leadership teams as requested.
  • Use a person-centered approach to providing services, and demonstrate effective interactions, training techniques, and interventions for other direct care staff.
  • Inform the Human Resources department of scheduling interruptions or needs.
  • Communicate with the Human Resources department to discuss house schedules and metrics.
  • Monitor timesheets to ensure staff timesheets are correct, signed, and submitted for payroll.
  • Accuracy is essential in all aspects of this work. Accuracy and timeliness in record keeping are critical to the agency adhering to state, licensure and rules to avoid penalties and paybacks.
  • Errors in judgment or delay of efforts could result in consequences with licensure and regulations agencies.
  • Maintain positive working relations between staff and leadership team members.
  • Provide staffing support in areas of critical coverage.
  • Ensure NC licensure standards and Medicaid guidelines are followed.
  • Turn in billing and all other required paperwork on time.
  • Maintain schedules and ensure shifts are covered when team members call out or request time off.
  • Demonstrate and model effective interactions, training techniques, and interventions.

The required minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • Valid NC drivers license
  • Competency in the following areas: technical knowledge, cultural competency and awareness, analytical skills, decision-making, interpersonal skills, communication skills, clinical skills, person-centered practices, evaluation and observation, crisis prevention and intervention, professionalism and ethics, community living skills and supports, health and wellness, community inclusion and networking, empowerment and advocacy, safety, education, training, and self-development.
  • Acceptable driving record and appropriate automobile insurance
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Satisfactory background check and Healthcare Personnel Registry report
  • Proficient and confident with applicable software, hardware, and technology
  • 3 years of full-time experience in a related human service field
