Job Description
Brandeis Counseling Center (BCC) is seeking a Staff Therapist II to provide services to students at Brandeis University.
This position is part time, 26 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (during the academic year)
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This clinician will be responsible for leading the robust Group Therapy program at the Brandeis Counseling Center, which on average offers 20-25 groups each semester, and providing group therapy that is culturally adaptive, trauma informed, and strength-based. This clinician will be engaged in a process of self-exploration that allows for the identification of their personal and professional biases and how their intersecting identities might influence their clinical practice. This clinician will engage in training experiences at the BCC that support their growth toward the APA’s multicultural guidelines.

Guidelines for Practice:
We are a team that is committed to clinical practices that are consistent with the American Psychological Association and National Association of Social Work multicultural guidelines.
Job Duties:
  • Crisis Intervention: This clinician will meet with students who present to the counseling center in acute crisis. Interventions will include assessing for level of care, providing resources, engaging with campus partners when appropriate, and arranging for higher levels of care as needed. 10%
  • Administrative Duties: This clinician will attend staff meetings. They are also expected to comply with Policy and Procedures regarding timely documentation. As lead for the group counseling program, this clinician will be responsible for organizing groups across the BCC, including managing group offerings, student referrals, and advertising group services. This clinician will collaborate with leadership and clinical teams to explore progress and areas for further development in serving students’ needs 25
  • Group Treatment: This clinician will be experienced in the current best practices for group treatment of college students. This clinician will provide group treatment that is culturally adaptive and trauma informed. This clinician will advocate for student utilization of group treatments by engaging in community outreach to advertise the benefit of group interventions, and collaborating with the clinical team for referrals and consultation. This clinician will be responsible for coordination of groups offered at the BCC, including leading group facilitators’ peer supervision group and planning meetings, and providing supervision for the training program focused on group facilitation. 65% direct service
Requirements:
Education: Master’s degree (MSW or Master’s in Psychology) or PhD
Work Experience: 5-8 years
License: License required OR licensed eligible in the state of MA
