RMS looking for a Staff Software Engineer to be part of a team responsible for designing and developing the critical business applications in the Core Products suite.
RMS looking for a Staff Software Engineer to be part of a team responsible for designing and developing the critical business applications in the Core Products suite. The Software Development group focuses on developing and building cutting-edge, high-performance enterprise software solutions that deliver risk quantification tools to our clients worldwide.
You will use best-of-breed technology from established vendors such as Oracle Java and open-source technology. As a Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in designing, developing, and innovating together as you bring your considerable software engineering skills to our dynamically growing organization.
What You'll Be Doing
- Collaborate and work with technical leads to design and build complex solutions.
- Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards, processes, and systems.
- Superb communication skills, and the ability to work directly with business leaders, providing technical expertise across Cloud offerings and on-premises offerings.
- Experience contributing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle experience including planning, designing, development, unit testing, other testing, and debugging.
- Create design documents, code, unit/functional tests, document and implement new programs and subprograms, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software.
- Required experience and skills:
- Strong understanding of selecting and utilizing appropriate data structures and algorithms to create running programs.
- Define solutions in terms of components, modules, and algorithms.
- Defines and communicates the architecture standards, and guidelines by facilitating the design and establishment of architecture standards or controls.
- Bachelor's Degree (or master’s degree) in Mathematics or Computer Science.
- Design and develop a microservices-based application using Vue.js / JavaScript/ Nux.js or others.
- Building UI components library which will reuse in multiple projects.
- Experience in collecting high-level requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
- 10+ years of JavaScript programming experience; proven track record of on-time delivery
- Creates architectures for large-scale, high-impact technology solutions by collaborating with other architects/leads to develop the target state.
- Provide technical guidance, direction, and problem-solving to engineering team members.
- Prepare design documents; evaluate and recommend solutions to meet user requirements; define and implement solutions.
- Participate and help in the integration of architecture solutions, design patterns, technical strategies, and roadmaps.
- Sound working knowledge of writing complex reusable UI components, microservices style of architecture, and rest API's.
- In-depth understanding of coding languages JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks (Vue.js, React.js, etc.)
- Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
Desirable experience and skills:
- Experience in test-driven development (Jest/Mocha/Jasmine)
- Expert in Vuejs or ReactJS Framework
- Understanding of material design, CSS flexbox, color theory, typography, composition, and iconography a plus
- Experience with Object Oriented JavaScript and modern JavaScript libraries (e.g., Closure, jQuery, Node)

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $160,000.00 to $240,500.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
