IN-OFFICE | FULL-TIME


Boulo Solutions is sourcing candidates for a fast growing company that is in need of a full-time Staff Accountant for their team in Birmingham, AL. If you want to work with an established company with a start up feel, this could be a great fit for you. They also have amazing benefits and culture.

This role will be an integral part of the accounting team and will include accounting for and preparation of reconciliations for the balance sheet and classification of the income statement, routine weekly/bi-weekly tasks and management of taxes and filings for our locations. The person in this role will become an expert in accounting matters for the company and its operations.


This role will be an integral part of the monthly financial statement preparation process and opportunity to work on other ad hoc projects as part of a growing Company.


Responsibilities:


  • Summarize, manipulate and present data in a concise and meaningful manner.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for the balance sheet and prepare related income statement evaluation e.g. trend, variance analysis.
  • Display excellent organization skills with the ability to track multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Be knowledgeable of company operations and gain an understanding of transaction flow from initiation to reporting in the general ledger.
  • Prepare and facilitate information between veterinary hospitals and to management as required.
  • Accurately account for and review accounting classification of the income statement with excellent attention to detail.
  • Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement with the goal of gaining efficiencies and sophistication for the accounting function as well as company as an organization.
  • Prepare and review accurate journal entries for the income statement and balance sheet, within prescribed time schedules and guidelines.
  • Manage project requests with an innovative approach and superior attention to detail.
  • Have a current knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards and comprehend implications to the company.
  • Maintain strict adherence to internal controls over financial reporting.


Requirements:


  • 1 + years’ experience in accounting, audit or other relevant professional capacity
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with little to no supervision

  • Proficient at working in accounting software
  • Advanced Excel Skills & working with large amounts of data
  • Optimize efficiency and solution-oriented attitude
  • Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
  • Blackline experience preferred but not necessary
  • Experience working in retail or healthcare industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance/Accounting or a related field
