Job Summary
Senior Biomedical Technician maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Program and Denver Health business standards. Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of complex biomedical equipment. The technician may participate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment, accessories and supplies. Coordinates special projects and performs technical tasks. The senior technician provides technical guidance to Biomedical Tech employees in the department. Adheres to instructions and corporate policies, and demonstrates professionalism with integrity in all interactions with customers and staff.
Essential Functions:
  • Performs assigned duties in accordance with current policies and procedures, including scheduled maintenance, equipment inspection, installations, repairs, adjustments, calibrations and safety testing of less complex biomedical equipment such as infusion pumps. (20%)
  • Provides technical guidance to Biomedical Tech I employees in the department. (20%)
  • Coordinates special projects and performs technical tasks. (20%)
  • Performs basic administrative tasks associated with the position, including parts ordering, returns and email correspondence. Also work order control, maintenance history records and responding in a timely manner to issues logged in Cherwell. (20%)
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment, accessories and supplies. (20%)

Education:
  • Associate's Degree Associates degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or U.S. Military Biomedical Equipment Technology (BMET) program diploma. Required

Work Experience:
  • 7-9 years In lieu of an associates degree or BMET Diploma, must have 7 years of relevant experience. Required
  • 4-6 years Four years Biomedical Technology Military training or other experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment Required or

Licenses:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of applicable trade areas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. .
  • Basic IT and networking knowledge.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and basic programming.
  • Maturity, self-development and integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Listening, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deal with high stress/pressure situations and manage complex customer situations.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
