The NISC IV program within the Civil group at Leidos is seeking a Sr. Technical Writer to support the FAA’s System Operations Security Group (AJR-2). You will assist the FAA by developing requirements for a specialized automation project and sustain specialized automation tools for the security and emergency operations related to automation managed by AJR-2. The ideal candidate will have experience in gathering and writing requirements for automation programs and experience tracking automation program development.

You will create and manage issue tickets as required, manage issue resolution, update AJR-2 management on status, and advise on build production readiness. Additionally, you will provide technical support services for AJR-2 automation programs as needed and provide reports and briefings as required by the System Operations Automation Team and Management. Overall, the contractor must help integrate all of the activities within this subtask to ensure a unified, coordinated, and integrated effort in which data sources, dashboards, and business processes are developed in a harmonious manner.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with technical writing and strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to understand and originate documentation pertaining to automation programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Requires a BA degree and 12 –15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience or if no degree, additional related work experience can be substituted.
- Must be able to pass an FAA Public Trust Security Investigation. (To be eligible must be either a US Citizen or Green Card Holder who has resided in the US for the past 3 years)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including MS Teams.
- Solid experience gathering and writing requirements for automation programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to master use of other software that may be required.
- Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence is highly desired.
- Experience tracking automation program development.
- Experience with reporting utilizing Microsoft Power BI.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $94,250.00 - $145,000.00 - $195,750.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
