Overall, a Distribution Center Sr Plant Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that a distribution center operates smoothly and efficiently while achieving metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Inventory.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations: responsible for ensuring that all activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. This involves conducting regular safety audits, identifying potential hazards, and developing strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Managing staff: responsible for managing and leading a team of employees, ensuring that all staff are trained, motivated, and working together to achieve common goals. This may involve hiring, training, and scheduling staff, as well as coaching and mentoring employees to improve performance.
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of distribution center, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. The Distribution Center Sr Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring that all goods are received, stored, and distributed in an efficient and timely manner. This involves managing inventory levels, space capacity, organizing the warehouse layout, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order.
  • Budgeting and cost control: responsible for managing the budget for the distribution center, ensuring that all expenses are within budget and that costs are controlled. This may involve analyzing financial reports, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and developing strategies to reduce expenses.
  • Developing and implementing operational procedures: The Distribution Center Sr Plant Manager is responsible for developing and implementing operational procedures to ensure that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently. This may involve developing procedures for receiving, storing, and shipping goods, as well as procedures for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Communication and collaboration: The Distribution Center Site Leader is responsible for communicating with other departments within the organization, as well as with external levels of the organization and vendors and customers. This involves collaborating with other departments to ensure that all activities are aligned with company objectives, as well as communicating with vendors and customers to ensure that all orders are fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Continuous improvement: responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency and customer service. This may involve analyzing data, conducting process improvement initiatives, and implementing new technologies to streamline operations.


YOU MUST HAVE

  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience leading a team of managers, supervisors and associates
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with import/export compliance
  • 5+ years’ experience with direct leadership in distribution operations
