Job Description

Overview / Objective

The Sr. Manager, Studio Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the NFL LA studio-based shows in our Inglewood location as well as managing and forecasting various operating budgets. This position is a key contributor on our NFL LA operations team and maintains regular responsibility for planning, monitoring, managing, and executing productions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in studio facility operations management and a strong understanding of studio technical infrastructure and workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Studio projects and upgrades.
  • Responsible for managing logistical and technical needs for all live and taped productions, troubleshooting technical and operational issues, and attending to specific show needs of the Producer and Director.
  • Oversee various operating budgets and work with other Operations Managers to ensure projects are staying within allocated budget requirements.
  • Help develop and enforce all NFL operations policies and procedures, including generating reports for Operations, Engineering, and Production departments regarding performance and/or potential issues.
  • Oversee planning for all remote integration into the studio.
  • Oversee daily scheduling and assignment of all production spaces, including but not limited to, Control Rooms, Studios, VO Booth, Playout to Air, Graphics, etc.
  • Partner with Production, Production Management and Scheduling teams to ensure all Production facilities and technical staff are scheduled appropriately and efficiently.
  • Liaise with other NFL Departments including but not limited to, Production, Engineering, Scheduling, Production Management, TOC and Technical Operations on all production needs.
  • Communicate production related facility needs with Facility team and landlord.
  • Understanding of Studio technical infrastructure, workflows and processes and ability to review and communicate issues with Engineering, as they arise.

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in television studio and remote production
  • Working knowledge of MediaPulse (or other show budget creation and tools)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior operations, production and/or technical experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications or related field
