PURPOSE:

The Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM) is responsible for day-to-day management and execution of multiple, large, or extra-large projects and/or programs through the project lifecycle. The Sr. PM is responsible to define and deliver within the agreed budget, scope and timelines and manages issues and risks through the project lifecycle. The Sr. PM is responsible for articulating project status and managing expectations. The Sr. PM will work collaboratively with functional business areas to achieve agreed project objectives, milestones and deliverables and ensure implemented solutions are of quality. The Sr. PM is responsible for actively participating as a role model and advising/coaching the work of other Project Leader and PM team members or deep technical/subject matter expertise. This role also assists with developing, delivering and training others on the Project Management Discipline.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
• Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
• Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Manages project budget and tracks team hours and expenses.
• Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to customers.
• Manages, resolves, and escalates, as appropriate, issues to ensure high quality deliverables.
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
• Performs other job duties as required
• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization
• Minimizes exposure and risk on project and ensures appropriately action.
• Effectively applies project methodology and enforces project standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering
• Strongly prefer PMP or equivalent certification

Experience:

• 8-12 years relevant work experience preferred
• Preferred work experience in project management
• Experience with portfolio and program management of projects

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to manage competing priorities
• Demonstrates deep functional/technical expertise or people coaching/mentoring abilities
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams
• Must have excellent public speaking and presentation skills
• Ability to handle large multiple projects or programs concurrently
• Ability to follow a project methodology
• Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project
