POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Financial Analyst - Global Inventory is responsible for the timely and accurate collection of financial information, and reporting of cost-related financial information and cost variance analysis at a corporate level. This role will participate in global projects as required to support business decisions and profitability improvement. The position will assist the Senior Finance Manager in defining, deploying, and harmonizing manufacturing and cost accounting policies and practices across Advanced Energy’s diverse global footprint of factories and service centers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures Cost of Sales (COS) is stated correct in SAP CO-PA (Profitably Analysis)
  • Works directly and effectively with all levels of the organization, across multiple continents and time zones
  • Assist in next Generation ERP implementation
  • Supports financial modeling and preparation of financial plans for Operations & Supply Chain initiatives as part of quarterly forecast and annual operating plan (AOP) cycles
  • Provide commentary for variances monthly
  • Assists in setting standard cost for new parts during the year
  • Proactively identifies trends and opportunities and makes recommendations to the factory finance teams to improve processes, drive efficiencies and/or enhance financial performance
  • Acts as a leader within the finance organization, mentoring and potentially managing (based on organizational needs) financial analysts and accountants
  • Executes month-end close, including review and approving required journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end analysis of actuals vs forecast. Example of journal entries are capitalization of variances into inventory, demo/eval reserve, and freight accruals, at a corporate level
  • Supports development, deployment and management of globally harmonized processes and policies, including but not limited to Inventory Accounting, Standard Costing, Full Absorption Accounting, Excess & Obsolete Inventory Accounting, Freight Accounting, etc.
  • As a member of the global finance organization, monitors and works within the internal control environment and partners, as needed, with both internal and external audit teams

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Develops successful working relationships with Strategic Global Finance team
  • Ability to perform clean, timely, accurate work in a fast paced, global environment
  • Self-driven with the ability to work effectively in ambiguity
  • Strong work ethic, exceptional “say/do” ratio. Highly ethical in all practices and recommendations
  • Strong verbal & written English communication skills
  • Eager to learn, execute effectively, then drive continuous improvement
  • Ability to utilize the full Microsoft Office Suite at an advanced level of proficiency (MS Excel in particular)
  • Prior experience with an integrated ERP system, including Financial Planning and Consolidation (SAP preferred)
  • Solid judgement with a wide degree of creativity and curiosity
  • Dedicated to work hard to help achieve company goals
  • Works directly and effectively with all levels of the organization, across multiple continents and time zones
EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
  • 5-8 years of progressive accounting/financial experience in a manufacturing environment
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in Cost/Manufacturing Accounting
  • Previous financial management experience in a global high tech and/or manufacturing company
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
