We’re currently looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect to join our team in Franklin, TN (will consider remote candidates with willingness to travel when required to HQ and work Central Time hours).
The Senior Enterprise Architect (EA) establishes and maintains the Nissan Digital Technology Stack (DTS) and associated architectural patterns, is an active member in the Enterprise Review Board (ERB) meetings, and supports peers within Nissan Digital as needed to solve business problems with digital capabilities and solutions. The EA will guide the application development teams in building solutions that are well designed, standards based, secure, robust and with focus on operational excellence. The EA will support the activities of application development, infrastructure, network, storage, application security, integration, RFI/RFP procurement processes, and data/analytics. In addition, the EA will be familiar with the existing digital landscape to drive the teams in the decisions regarding reuse, make or buy. The EA will have knowledge of domain business processes and ability to engage with Solution Architects in other domains for cross-functional solutions. The EA is considered a senior level individual contributor and is expected to present technology solutions to business management and executives using language appropriate to the audience.
Job functions include but are not limited to performing the following:
Establishes and maintains contacts within business units and information system programs to understand business activities and business drivers, business requirements, solutions strategies and alternatives, etc., being considered and/or implemented
Provides architectural leadership in the resolutions of inter-program and inter-project issues
Conducts ongoing publicity and communication of the Enterprise Architecture both within the information community, and the business units
Conducts ongoing research and assessment of new analysis approaches for potential use within the Enterprise
Develops and coordinates architecture plans
Keeps abreast of current trends and developments in the IT industry.
Assists in aligning business and enterprise initiatives with the Enterprise Architecture
Audits compliance within the Enterprise Architecture standards
Communicates with business and technology leaders, both within and outside the organization
Influences the organization to accomplish goals and needs through architecture activities
Serves as a technology leader within Nissan Digital having thorough knowledge on various technologies and platforms
Participates in Enterprise Review Board (ERB) architecture review sessions, provides feedback and approves architecture for all applications across all lines of business
Collaborates with enterprise, solution, and platform architects
Assists in partnering with senior/executive IS/IT leaders to layout technology roadmaps and strategies. Establishes relationships with IS/IT leaders and technology subject matter experts with excellent verbal and written communication skills appropriate for both technical and non-technical audiences
Reviews and consults on third party vendor products for technical, architectural and technological soundness during vendor and product purchasing
Coaches and mentors junior enterprise and solution architects. Reviews their designs to ensure they are aligned to Nissan’s architecture, legal, compliance and security standards
Creates and maintains reference architecture patterns
Conducts information sharing (ex, lunch & learn) sessions with all architects to educate and transfer knowledge within IS/IT
Establishes standards and best practices across technologies and platforms
Strategizes digital transformation of legacy applications across line of business
Provides guidance of cloud migrations of applications on data center
Seeks innovative solutions to problems through evaluation and proof of concepts with new and existing technology capabilities to determine compatibility with current and future architectural standards and business requirements
Promotes operational excellence through stable, supportable solutions.
The architect for cross-program, and cross-project architecture strategies, opportunities, and problem resolution
Minimum Qualifications include the following:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
7+ years with IT experience.
4+ years of experience in architecting and building complex systems
Solid familiarity with development best practices to ensure end-to-end fit and design
Solid Communications, both verbal (e.g.: presentations, seminars, etc.), written (e.g.: reports, articles, etc.) and interpersonal / relationship skills
Solid group session facilitation skills
Solid skills in complex system design
Solid understanding of cloud, cloud native and serverless technologies
Solid technical breadth and depth across a number of technical disciplines, technologies, platforms and tools
Solid persuasion and negotiation skills
Good familiarity with method driven Enterprise Frameworks
Experience with system delivery with full project scopes
Solid understanding of architectural design patterns and best practices to address application, data and technology in the context of business processes within the context of existing and new architectures and standards
Solid ability to articulate and document high-level and detailed architectures, system designs and other architectural artifacts
Solid expertise in designing highly resilient, highly scalable, cost efficient, highly secure and easily maintainable application solutions
Solid expertise in and of digital transformation and cloud migration
Solid understanding of technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization
Proven ability to quickly comprehend, learn and adopt new technologies
Understanding of production support concepts, importance of application observability / monitoring, and stable, supportable design concepts
