Sr Engineer
Mobility is the goal
  • Other duties and responsibilities as dictated by department.
  • Create unique original product designs which may be patentable.
  • Develop and maintain documentation as required.
  • Present technical reports and findings to Schindler management and internal customers.
  • Analyze and solve complex product design, application, manufacturing, installation and service problems requiring research, technical analysis, creativity, and experience.
  • Provide effective task and process planning and implementation to accomplish specified technical objectives on time.
  • Implement defect prevention procedures or processes in product design or application.
  • Prepare and conduct technical training courses for own or other departments.
  • Plan and lead engineering projects with technical staff. Lead other engineers and support personnel to carry out specific tasks meet customer needs and company objectives on time and within budget.
  • Analyze new technologies and recommend application in elevator and escalator products.
  • Analyze competitive product designs and report findings.
  • Design, modify, and/or apply components, systems and processes using engineering methods and techniques to meet specified technical objectives on time.

Education/Experience
B.S. in Engineering required. Minimum four years of engineering experience required. Thorough knowledge of design procedures and project management. In-depth knowledge of engineering fundamentals and technologies related to elevator or escalator system.
Language Ability
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables where no standardization exists. Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and blueprints for materials and specifications.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient with CAD or 3D Modeling software, MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint. SAP experience preferred.
