Position Title: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Location : Scottsdale, AZ or Remote

We’re looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to join a team tasked with automating and bringing efficiencies to product delivery on the Azure platform.

What is exciting about this role?

This role is part of a small special projects team with a wide range of flexibility in the service of the goal of cost management. What does this ultimately mean? This role will control a large amount of their own destiny and projects.

The Team And Scope Of This Role

• Application delivery automation and implementing tools/platforms/portals to support rapid delivery of products, environments, and observability.
• This role is part of a team with a broad scope that touches product, infrastructure, and architecture teams with the mandate of, “Make it more efficient, make it more observable”.
• The Sr DevOps Engineer will be a senior developer on the Cost Optimization team, developing automation pipelines to reduce extraneous Azure spend and generally increase efficiency.

• The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience with automation and development operations, preferably with a focus on streamlining and observability.
• Experience with industry-leading tools such as Jenkins/Chef/Ansible and processes to enforce strong development practices and modularized components is preferred.

What is your current tech stack environment?

• Mixture of native SaaS as well as non-native SaaS applications that are being modernized and transformed for delivery in Azure
• Agile development methodologies
• Azure infrastructure environment

Responsibilities

• Work with a cross functional team to understand use cases and requirements for new projects
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Build proof-of-concepts to validate proposed designs and provide feedback
• Remain current with agile development methodologies as implemented in Blue Yonder
• Drives architecture and designs to become simpler, more robust, and more efficient.
• Inspires fellow engineers to become better at their craft and gives practical advice on writing cleaner code and effective tests.
• Develop validation and testing frameworks for deployments to ensure correct configuration.
• Provide authoritative expertise to others by advising on prioritization, planning, and execution of projects within the subdomain
• Automate infrastructure and product deployment in Azure
• Creating internal/external facing portals for various activities (deploying environments, status monitoring, etc)

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science
• Able to thrive in a collaborative and cross-functional environment
• Senior level experience in software engineering with a focus on DevOps and/or SRE
• At least 8 + years of experience in development, with a range of technologies related to delivery of highly automated solutions.
• Strong Experience with DevOps concepts, tools (containers, (CI/CD - Github, Github Action, Jenkins, Artifactory, Helm), Chef, Ansible, Puppet etc.) and emerging technologies
• Azure devops is big plus or other public Cloud experience

The salary range for this position is $123,167.00 - $159,435.00.

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
