Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for providing functional and system development support for the business intelligence solution within Rockline. The Sr. Business Analyst is to participate in a functional and technical capacity in all phases of the project and software development life cycle, including project management, design, documentation, training, implementation, post-production support and on-going maintenance. The Sr. Business Analyst is to participate in business process reengineering activities and serve as the functional liaison between the IT department and the user community for the assigned functional system areas. The Sr. Business Analyst is to take ownership of the functional issues that occur in the assigned areas by identifying underlying problems, analyzing potential solutions, and managing the implementation of resolutions.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with business experts to identify new sources of data and integrate into the existing business intelligence model.
  • Develop and maintain the corporate dashboard. Develop a change management SOP & validation process for the corporate business intelligence environment and data repositories.
  • Conduct interviews with users to define functional requirements and develop reporting where no business power user exists.
  • Monitors the daily operational activities of systems through various methods, resolves any replication issue, ensures that proper procedures are followed, and that the data integrity of the system is maintained.
  • Assists in the preparation of end user documentation and training materials and develops a training program for end users and content creators.
  • Provide leadership in the clarification, rationalization, and documentation of project requests received by the IT department related to business intelligence.
  • Provides IT support for the management of the Microsoft 365 Power BI environment including licensing, user setup, security, and capacity.
  • Develop and participate in process testing, including the development of test plans, test cases and scenarios, and documentation or results – both for unit and process flow integration testing.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working with a diverse set of data sources, structured, semi-structured and API-based data sources (JSON/XML). Knowledge of data pipeline design, understanding of integration and data transformation standard methodologies required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field is required.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a BI Developer or Analyst role, with proficiency in Power BI. Developing BI applications such as scorecards, dashboards, interactive reports, visual design, data models, Security, DAX/MDX functions and/or other BI Analytical tools required.
  • Microsoft certification in Power BI is a plus.
  • Project management leadership experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and analytical tools (Microsoft Power BI, Azure) in a professional environment required.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud tenants, Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Azure Synapse Studio, Azure DevOps required.
