Overview:

Gilbane is seeking a Senior Accountant who is a mid-level professional capable of fulfilling the project accounting and project forecasting requirements of multiple mid-sized projects or a singular large project, including day-to-day interface with project management, client and contractor personnel, while overseeing and developing junior level accounting staff. This role will sit primarily in the office but travel to the project job sites may be required for meetings with the project teams and subcontractors.

The Senior Accountant is considered a mid-level position within our Business Unit Accounting job family. Responsibilities:

• Produce timely and accurate requisitions and lien waivers
• Assist the Accounting Manager or Controller with monthly WIP process
• Train and mentor Accountants
• Understand and manage various contract types and delivery methods
• Format and set-up project forecast to meet both internal and client reporting needs
• Review and understand cost proposals
• Manage contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, Files, and Co Policies
• Manage monthly project forecast meetings and maintain accurate ETC for labor and expense
• Ensure timely management of accounts receivable and payables
• Act as independent accountant during project forecast meetings to mitigate financial risk
• Manage the project financial closeout
• Develop and maintain positive professional relationships both internally & externally

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• 8-10 years with CM or General Contractor organization working on larger complex construction projects and/or joint ventures
• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of the overall project execution process, including budgeting, project forecasting, cost control, schedule, anticipated cost and project profitability
• Proficient in CMiC
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
