Job Description

SQL Database Administrator

Alpharetta, GA- Onsite position

Full time position


  • Develop processes for optimizing database security
  • Install, upgrade, and manage database applications
  • Install and maintain the performance of database servers
  • Manage database access
  • Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
  • Create automation for repeating database tasks
  • Be available for on-call support as needed
  • Set and maintain database standards
  • Recommend and implement emerging database technologies
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
  • Performance tuning of database systems


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Large or Very large databases
  • Strong knowledge of performance tuning
  • This document contains confidential, proprietary information and may not be reproduced or copied without the express authorization.
  • Experience with .NET a major plus
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL
  • Strong knowledge of indexing, Dynamic Management Views, compression, and partitioning
  • 8+ years with SQL Server 2000/2005/2008/2008R2/2012
  • Computer Science or Information Management degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting a major plus
  • Strong knowledge of SSIS
  • Must enjoy mentoring junior staff
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Failover Clustering and Mirroring (HA and DR)
  • Excellent communication skills(written and verbal)
  • Capable of performing task associated with 24 X 7 On-call duties
  • 1+ years with SQL Server 2012 or higher a plus
