Speech Therapy | Dexter, MO | Full Time

Job Summary


Assess and treat persons with speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders. May select alternative communication systems and teach their use. May perform research related to speech, language, voice, fluency or swallowing disorders.



Essential Functions
  • Administer hearing or speech/language evaluations, tests, or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairments, using written and oral tests and special instruments.
  • Executive Director of HealthPoint.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the rehab managers and executive director
  • Assures goal of unrelenting commitment to quality through employee and patient satisfaction
  • Document the initial evaluation, plan of care, treatment, progress, and discharge of patient timely and accurately.
  • Participate in community service, fundraising events, and informational programs as requested by the Executive Director of HealthPoint.
  • Provide training and supervision in therapy techniques and objectives for less experienced therapists and newly hired Sts
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for deficits in voice, fluency, speech, language, or swallowing, based on own assessments and recommendations of physicians, psychologists, and social workers.
  • Information to evaluate and plan treatment for speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Evaluate hearing screening and speech/language test results and medical or background
  • Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
  • Work effectively with all personnel to create an environment of cooperation and respect
  • Instruct clients in techniques for more effective communication, including sign language, speech reading, and voice improvement.
  • Create environment of efficiency and concern for the needs of the patients
  • Develop speech exercise programs to increase functional abilities.
  • Maintains expense control to achieve value based providers
  • Pharyngeal muscles and breathing mechanism.
  • Consult with and advise educators or medical staff on speech or hearing topics such as communication strategies, speech and language stimulation, swallowing, voice, fluency, and cognition.
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
  • Perform duties with respect, courtesy and kindness to achieve excellence in customer service
  • Assume responsibility for leadership roles in initiating and implementing new programs for the facility.
  • Participate in role of clinical instructor for speech pathology students from accredited programs.
  • Assume leadership roles in various aspects of the clinic’s daily operations as requested by the
  • Teach clients to control or strengthen lips, tongue, jaw, facial muscles, tongue base muscles,


Qualifications
  • SP-L - Licensed Speech Pathologist In the State of Missouri Upon Hire required
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire required
  • CFY - Speech Pathologist Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate - if not CCC Upon Hire required
  • CCC - Clinical Speech Pathologist In the State of Missouri Within 4 Years required
  • Bachelor's Degree required
