  • OPPORTUNITY
    UW Medical Center - Montlake – Rehabilitation has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME, DAY SHIFT, SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST 1.
    Our team is specialized in voice, swallowing and upper airway disorders with expertise including performing voice, neurogenic voice, chronic cough, dynamic airway disorders, complex swallowing disorders, and alaryngeal rehabilitation.
    WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

  • Administer treatments as determined by the evaluation in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury
  • Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities
  • Assist to develop clinical programs for optimum patient care and service
  • Participate in operational aspects, performance improvement, and Quality Improvement activities within the department
  • Ensure that patient charges and documentation are accurate and entered on a timely basis
  • Participate in infection control, equipment training, compliance, safety and educational programs, both at the departmental and organizational level
  • Other opportunities include community outreach and education as well as clinical research in collaboration with other speech pathologists and/or physicians
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
    WHAT’S NEEDED?

  • A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology or Communicative Disorders or equivalent degree approved by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.
    AND
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.
    WHAT’S DESIRED?
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a speech pathologist or equivalent
  • Strongly prefer experience/competencies in adult medical speech pathology, particularly working within a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic

  • Competitive candidates will bring experience with performance of clinical evaluation and treatment of patients with voice, resonance, upper airway, and swallowing disorders. Experience in performing rigid and flexible videostroboscopy, flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing, and/or videofluoroscopic swallow evaluation is preferred. Special consideration will also be given to candidates with experience in performing voice, head and neck cancer, and/or alaryngeal voice rehabilitation. Opportunities for training available.
    LICENSE REQUIRED
    Current State Licensure in Speech Pathology (as Speech-Language Pathologist).
