Job Overview

This role requires you to be a good communicator and negotiator and have interpersonal skills to effectively maintain vendor relationships. Communication and decision-making skills are important for selecting vendors that best fit the organization needs. The ideal candidate will be able to work with vendors to complete monthly scorecards to ensure adherence to contractual performance requirements, along with any additional necessary performance related information and communicate results to internal stakeholders and vendors. The candidate will be expected to be strong at communication and capable of cross group collaborations. The ideal candidate should understand the vendor life cycle and can transfer the knowledge into relevant behaviors, culture, and practices in the organization.



Essential Functions

  • Ensures the fulfillment of report and record-keeping requirements.
  • Create strong partnerships with business leaders, senior line of business managers, and vendor contacts to effectively manage strategic vendor relationships.
  • Lead recurring vendor meetings and manage the risks, issues and actions items to resolutions.
  • Participate in vendor-sponsored events which focus primarily on future products and services, industry trends, vendor strategic direction and related topics.
  • Lead initiatives that support the continued financial and contractual management of vendor resources.
  • Build deep and impactful relationships with Leadership and Vendors to influence change and to partner on delivery at scale.
  • Demonstrates open, friendly, accepting, and supportive behaviors with team members.
  • Monitors supplier performance; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.
  • Creates a climate for collaboration across different functional teams and minimizes barriers to collaboration.



Competencies


  • 5+ years of work experience in the role’s relevant field of expertise.
  • Ability to draft reports and other communications, effectively present to management and internal and external business partners, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Operates basic Microsoft desktop applications to achieve certain requirements.
  • Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy.
  • Maintains productive, long-term relationships with clients or vendors.
  • Demonstrates the ability to speak, write and present clearly.
  • Direct experience establishing and managing strategic vendor relationships, experience in technology and/or procurement organizations.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Team player who collaborates well and can work with and influence stakeholders across all levels.
  • Applies established organizational practices in budgeting.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
  • Establishes best practices for monitoring vendors efficacy, reliability, and performance.
  • Understanding of the vendor life cycle (sourcing, procurement, vendor management), and how internal roles interact and operate throughout the duration of vendor engagements.
