Spark Studio Guide Jobs

Qualifications:
-Montessori training/certification (early childhood / elementary) preferred
-Experience managing mixed-aged groups of children
-Curious with a lifelong love of learning
-Excellent written and oral communication
-Deeply respects children & their ability to learn without heavy adult intervention
-Warm-hearted, tough-minded and even-keeled
-Flexible problem-solver, innovative, entrepreneurial
-Quick learner, independent worker, needs little direct guidance
-Enjoys creating, experimenting, improving, and excelling
-Respect and passion for global citizenship
-Enjoy the outdoors
-Must pass a background check

Responsibilities
-Hold learners accountable to their promises
-Create meaningful exhibitions, ceremonies/rites of passage, and celebrations that reinforce the rules of engagement, promises, and the Hero’s Journey
-Launch and facilitate age-appropriate Socratic discussions
-Serve as a drop-off and pick-up greeter
-Plan & prepare an inspiring learning environment
-Observe each learner’s progress in planning, doing, reflecting
-Use Montessori modeling of using Spark resources respectfully
-Never answer questions, employing Socratic questioning techniques
-Turn over morning greeting, circle time, peace table facilitation, and afternoon clean up to learners as quickly as can be done to excellence.
-Communicate daily/weekly updates and pictures with families through our preferred platforms and social media accounts
-Advance recruitment for right-fit families to expand the Spark studio
