Job Description

The Solutions Architect is a consultative in Pre-Sales & Post Sales expert technology and solution focused specialist who creates great client intimacy with their technical expertise as it relates to Server implementation- both on premise and in the cloud. The SA for this role will be a subject matter expert in enterprise content management (ECM) and document management.


In addition to being viewed as a trusted advisor to the client, the Solutions Architect will also have regional responsibility for solution design, business development, and transition of projects from presales to delivery, and sales support while maintaining national responsibility for the development and rollout of new IT solutions.


The Solutions Architect provides pre-sales support and expertise in analyzing client requirements, in conjunction with the client’s requirements, technical solutions, and system capabilities, to ensure new solutions will accomplish the client's objectives. The individual will interact with clients, providing an advanced level of technology and market understanding. Although this position is sales and business focused, the individual is to demonstrate an understanding of technical configurations required for a working solution.


The role requires a strong client engagement on large clients which requires the ability to lead scope of work determination, product pricing and RFP/RFI responses. Training programs are to be developed and presented by this position to aid the sales team. The individual takes responsibility of a technology / product range relationship between Kyocera Document Solutions and our internal solutions group and relevant vendor solutions teams.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
  • Provide sales support and solution expertise on qualified opportunities including all service offerings specific to the practice
  • Working together with Sales and Project Management, define the roadmap and milestones for each project, and the required involvement of delivery teams
  • Mentors colleagues both in soft and technical areas
  • Take responsibility as the technical representative of Kyocera Intelligence within a few strategic accounts to develop strong client relationships and identify opportunities for Kyocera Intelligence
  • Assume responsibility for technical solution design and related justifications within the context of defined and client-approved requirements and constraints
  • Maintain specified billable targets through the delivery of consultative services such as Surveyors, IT consulting, engagement management, and applicable components of key delivery engagements (end user training, etc.)
  • Assists management teams in assessment of additional technical resources
  • Work with Account Managers on client proposals and when assigned to opportunities the presales deliverables (BOM, SOW, Diagram & services pricing)
  • Assures technical competency and completeness of material presented to prospect
  • Contribute to development of best practice and Intellectual Capital
  • Participate in strategic account planning teams for key clients
  • Communicates with other members of the organization to develop training initiatives that will enhance the effectiveness of the sales (both outside and inside) personnel
  • Develop an understanding of Kyocera Intelligence market positioning, vision and solution value add
  • Look for opportunities for other areas of Kyocera Document Solutions, especially managed services, and pursue these with the appropriate Account Manager


Work Experience Required


  • Experience leading one major project and contributing to three other major projects in target solution areas is required
  • Solutions Architects typically have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in target solutions
  • Several years of pre-sales support experience is highly recommended

Education/Qualifications Required


  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Math, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A working knowledge of workflow solutions, experience working with Square 9 and/or Hyland a plus.
