Summary:
As the Solar Sales Representative, you will develop relationships and listen to the needs of our customers to determine the best solution to meet the homeowner or business owner needs and do whatever is necessary to achieve department sales and capacity goals.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Participate in the sales process through initial site visits and proposal meetings with customers.
- Maintain contact with your customers during project development.
- Establish a relationship with every customer and provide them with options to help them pick the right solution.
- Educate prospective customers on the superior quality of products and services that Magic Solar provides.
- Get potential customers excited about Magic Solar and encourage them to spread the word.
- Work with solar coordinator on schedule of daily site visits and proposals meetings.
- Conduct thorough site surveys when needed post sale.
- Help set aggressive sales plans and track these commitments monthly & quarterly.
- Update appropriate statuses in CRM software.
- Assist solar coordinator with outbound sales efforts with follow-up with existing sales bids and leads.
- Provide solar proposals and support other sales staff through the sales process.
- Work with Manager to ensure pricing and solution is correct for every customer.
- Participate in training on the latest industry technologies both on and offsite.
- Develop and understand existing key client relationships with MVE customers.
- Help bring customers through the on-boarding experience with the solar coordinator.
Competencies:
- Must have a demonstrated understanding of construction means, methods, codes and ordinances.
- Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
- Experience estimating array sizes based on customer budget, kWh consumption and available roof area.
- Proven track record in successful sales.
- Quick, sound decision-making abilities.
- Ability to build trust and demonstrate empathy.
- Experience developing system costs, savings estimates and economic analysis for solar customers.
- Understanding of jurisdictional issues within cities, counties & utility requirements.
- Understanding of local and national tax incentives as they pertain to solar PV.
- Excel in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
- Understand electric bill terminology, key information, and billing procedures.
- Good presentation and public speaking skills is a plus.
- Understanding of solar electrical equipment (panels, racking, inverters, monitoring, etc.).
- Ability to inspire and lead others to attain company goals.
- Strong verbal and written communications.
