Who we are and what we do:

The mission of the Office of the Secretary of State is to exceed the expectations of our customers, the taxpayers, by operating at the highest levels of accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and accountability in a customer-centered environment.

Job Overview:

Responsible for performing assessments of software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures to ensure a high level of software quality and consistency. Troubleshooting and characterizing defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports. You will be responsible for maintaining documentation of test operations and reports results to engineering. You will work closely with members of the Project, Development, and Production Support teams to meet agreed-upon deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs and documents software test evaluations in compliance with test plan procedures.
  • Effectively communicates with peers and project team both through email and via face-to-face interactions.
  • Executes software validation protocols.
  • Verifies fixes are applied by executing targeted tests.
  • Takes responsibility for self-development, actively seeking feedback and responding accordingly.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies.
  • Assists product developers in replication of product failures.
  • Confirms completion of the required training plan before assuming job responsibilities.
  • Reviews data for compliance to specifications and report abnormalities.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relations with colleagues in a business area, proactively answering queries on testing and following up on actions with stakeholders.
  • Efficiently manages own time to complete work and associated paperwork by assigned completion dates.

Required Experience:

Education and Experience:

  • Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Six months working experience software testing and automated testing applications

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute multiple priorities, while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of SCRUM and Agile practices.
  • Strong logical thinking, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Minimum Qualifications:

Physical Requirements

  • Requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and speaking.
  • Ability to move and lift objects 35 pounds or more.
