Job Description

McLaughlin Research Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to provide support as a member of an integrated project development team for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI. The candidate will be working with the development team to support integration of customer developed software, implementation of automated build services to support the development process on Linux system, and to monitor and report on the status of build and test services. The candidate will be responsible for adherence to software development and configuration management processes and will be expected to provide technical input as to the implementation, adherence, and continuous improvement of the software engineering processes and procedures.


Responsibilities:

The candidate should have the ability to quickly learn new concepts, tools and methodologies to be able to execute tasks with minimal direction. Job responsibilities will include compilation of software and firmware components, generation of scripts to support compilation and generation of automated test routines for testing software/firmware components for functionality and providing feedback. The successful candidate will report progress to the Lead Software Engineer, including issues and recommendations to achieve system integration, as well as verification and validation closeout on schedule.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in software development, integration and analysis of military hardware and software systems/processes
  • Experience building and maintaining automated software development environments
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
  • Programming experience with C++


Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
