Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated software used in the autonomous driving industry; developing state-of-the-art software tools used to design perception systems for automated driving; architecting infrastructure to enable the modeling and simulation of sensors, such as lidar, radar, and vision for autonomous systems; participating in the full software development life-cycle, from requirements gathering and design, to coding; collaborating with team members to produce high-quality, performant code that is robust, efficient, and easy to maintain and extend; designing, developing, and documenting APIs to enable integration of sensor models with driving scenarios; and interfacing and collaborating with other software teams developing tools to model and simulate automated driving scenarios.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise designing, developing, and implementing APIs to enable integration of sensor models with driving scenarios.
• Demonstrated expertise applying deep learning algorithms to design and develop computer vision applications using MATLAB.
• Demonstrated expertise writing deployable software in C++, MATLAB and Simulink to develop sensor models, within a multiplatform environment - Windows, Linux, and Mac.
• Demonstrated expertise applying statistical methods - linear algebra, probability, and mathematical optimization - to model autonomous vehicle behavior, dynamics, controls, and 2D and 3D geometric transformations in MATLAB and Simulink.
