About The Role

Our software team is growing rapidly and we are looking for talented engineers to join our small, agile, world-class team. In this role you will be developing attractive and intuitive browser-based interfaces for controlling and managing our state-of-the-art humanoid robots. This role requires an emphasis on front end development and design skills, but you will also need enough familiarity with back end technologies to work with the rest of the software development team to integrate your front end into the complete system.

About The Work

• Work with the rest of the frontend team to write well-tested, maintainable and documented software
• Design and implement interfaces for monitoring, updating, and troubleshooting a fleet of robots
• Design and implement web-based interfaces for controlling a humanoid robot
• Work with other members of the software development team to interface your front end work with existing back end systems and communicate requirements for new backend systems
• Implement data visualization tools for individual robot diagnostics, fleet monitoring, and internal software and hardware test results

About You

• You are able to work independently and as part of a team with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• You have a BS or MS in computer science or related field or have equivalent industry experience
• You have experience working with Redux or other React global state management tools
• You have exposure to standard agile and software development processes, including issue tracking tools (Jira), feature branching, version control (Git), continuous integration and deployment
• You have strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, React, Javascript, and Typescript
• You have 2+ years of full-time work experience implementing front end web applications
• You are able to communicate technical information effectively both orally and in writing with other team members
• Authorization to work in the USA

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with the details of frontend build systems like webpack or esbuild and language-agnostic build systems like Bazel
• You have a good sense for designing attractive interfaces by choosing appropriate colors, fonts, layout, and other visual features
• Experience working in the robotics industry
• You have experience working with vector maps, such as MapboxGL or other libraries
• You have experience with 3D visualization using WebGL and related technologies
