We offer work-from-home flexibility as part of our hybrid workplace policy. Our three Resource Centers (located in Nashville, TN; Boulder, CO; and San Diego, CA) are available for scheduled in-person events or assigned workspaces for those who want to work in the office. Remote team members also have access to flexible space scheduling for occasional use.

Your Role As a HealthStreamer

Position Summary

Design, develop, and maintain the software products offered by HealthStream in accordance with technology best practices and product offerings. Work with team leaders and senior developers to understand and refine requirements. Design and estimate effort of new features or sub-systems from business concept to detailed technical design. Develop quality, defect free software that adheres to company coding and documentation standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This position is a non-management development position. Developers in this position will participate as members of a software development team and will have individual development responsibilities across the spectrum of software development for a HealthStream products.

This role is hybrid with expectations of coming in 2 days a week.

Qualifications

What You Will Need to be Successful

Education, Experience And Knowledge Required

• Demonstrated knowedge of DevOps best practices including CI/CD and automation and associated development.
• Position also requires demonstrated knowledge of .NET (C#), JavaScript (Node), or Python.
• 1-2 years of experience in the job offered or 1-2 years of experience as a Developer, Consultant, Software Engineer, or closely related occupation.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any discipline), or closely related field of study is preferred.
• Database development experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL or similar is preferred; NoSQL experience also helpful.

Skills And Abilities Required

• Candidates should demonstrate abilities including:
• .Net Core 1.x/2.x, ASP.NET
• Continuous Integration practices
• Scripting and automation in JavaScript, Python or similar
• Cloud Providers such as AWS
• Agile Development Process(es)
• Data Access Layer Technologies (ORMs, Micro ORMs, etc.)
• Candidates for this position should have basic knowledge and competence with the following:
• Code refactoring
• Architecture Patterns (Microservice, N-Tier)
• Strong communication skills including technical writing ability
• DevOps practices and automation
• .NET (latest), including C#
• Web technologies including HTML 5, CSS and JavaScript
• Participation in Agile development methodology, ideally focused on SCRUM or Kanban
