The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, BGV will not seek information about salary history. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree; five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Agile Scrum software development experience required.
COMPUTER EXPERIENCE:
Expert knowledge. Ability to interpret and apply complex technical information. Knowledge of systems design and implementation in a database environment, teleprocessing security and communications networks, and knowledge of technical and user-related aspects of a personal computer environment. In addition, the following Technical Skill sets are required:
- An excellent knowledge of the .NET Standard class libraries (both Framework and Core) and .NET design patterns such as object oriented designs, asynchronous programming, events, and multi-threaded application development.
- Strong understanding of RDBMS, SQL, Security and the MSSQL Server Product Lineage.
- Experience with Document databases, preferably Cosmos DB.
- Experience with and/or knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code.
- Experience with and/or knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, SSDT, SSIS or Azure Data Studio.
- Understanding of portable Data Objects such as XML. JSON and YAML.
- Knowledge of IIS, Kestrel, Apache or similar web serving platforms.
- Knowledge of AJAX, Object-Oriented JavaScript, Prototype/JQuery (or similar), and CSS.
- Working Knowledge of DevOps concepts, cloud strategies for software development
- Working knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment strategies and Source Control, preferably using either Azure DevOps or Github actions.
- Ability to build custom objects and extensions into third party applications, including but not limited to integrating third party APIs into your applications.
- Ability to construct web applications and web services. Working knowledge of a source code management system, preferable Git with experience using Pull Requests.
- Knowledge of multi-source/destination SSIS Interfaces.
- Identity Access Management concepts, perferable using Azure Active Directory.
- Strong understanding of Networking concepts.
- Strong understanding of security concepts at the application and system levels including using Identity Access Management with Azure Active Directory.
- Strong understanding of responsive web design, UI development, UX and useability.
- Ability to debug Typescript, Powershell, Bash and Python a plus.
- Experience with Blazor Server or Blazor WASM a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design/code objects and/or applications following specifications from senior developers and/or product owners using appropriate tools and adhering to BGV’s coding standards.
- Develop new objects and systems with an emphasis on re-usability and minimal maintenance requirements, as well as maintain and enhance existing code and systems.
- Participate in design and development meetings with other developers and end users for the purposes of designing and implementing new objects and/or systems.
- Work to arrive at solutions that combine the data architecture and application code for optimal outcomes and solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers to ensure that implementation align tightly with functional specifications
- Apply DevOps concepts and become proficient with cloud strategies that create a more nimble development environment including but not limited to CI/CD and automation
- Design, develop and implement test plans to accurately test the application code, functions, modules, and program
- Partner with IT Operations staff to enable technical solutions to business requirements as needed.
- Use collaborative techniques to share knowledge and different perspectives such as Pair Programming, Pull Request review, and peer review in constructive ways.
- Be familiar with all BGV SQL databases needed to write queries, stored procedures and other data analysis. Basic planning, scheduling, execution, documentation, status reporting and follow-up for assigned tasks.
