Job Description

Spathe is currently searching for a SOF LOGISTICS EDUCATION PROGRAM SUPPORT to join our team in the Tampa, FL area.

Requirements
  • Facilitates student preparation for the course, accomplishment of the course prerequisites and accomplishment of all course execution and graduation requirements.
  • Supports the review, update, and publication of the SOF Logistics Handbook and as a J4 logistics staff officer is responsible for supporting other Special J4 Projects, as required, such as the annual J4 SOF Global Logistics Symposium (GLS).
  • 11 paid holidays per year
  • Collaborates with Service Partners and interagency communities through invitations to participate from Government Lead Instructor and shall maintain a network of Educational Design, DoD Requirements Processes, and Logistics SME’s that can support and contribute to the success of the courses using recent experience.

  • As required, creates, modifies adjusts, adapts SOF Logistics Education courses provided as desired by the J4 Director.
  • J4 SOF Logistics Course Senior Subject Matter Expert (SSME).

  • Shall be proficient in presenting SOF Logistics Education Program academic courses using SVTC and selected web-based applications for the virtual environment, including such examples as ZoomGov and MS Teams.
  • Must be eligible for access to Alternative Compensatory Control Measure (ACCM) program information
  • One (1) year of joint logistics experience
  • Synchronizes JSOU Staff’s vision and technical capabilities with the J4 SOF Logistics Education Program requirements to ensure the most current tools are used, and most effective educational experience is delivered, measured, and assessed for improvement.
  • Supports all phases of course development including, final edit and validation of all course material and online or blended learning products. The J4 Director of Logistics will have final approval for all course material.
  • Provide SOF Logistics Overview, as required, to Resource Managers Course, Joint Logistics Course, MARSOC Logistics Course, etc
  • Shall distribute, collect, and analyze Course Critiques for each class and make recommendations for improvements to the J4 Education Lead and Shall be equally proficient as a Senior Subject Matter Expert (SSME) in presenting course material to students in a residence environment and a virtual environment, as required.
  • Designs, develops, implements, delivers, schedules, administers, and evaluates academic programs for U.S. Special Operations Command, J4/Directorate of Logistics.

  • As required, execute special projects to assist the J4 Directorate of Logistics in executing its core functions to develop policy, plans, strategy, and concepts in support of Commander, USSOCOM.
  • Master’s degree required.
  • Regular Duty Hours (Mon-Fri) flex schedule as needed to support CG initiatives.

  • Develops, reviews, and updates the course plan, syllabus, lessons and teaching and assessment plans to deliver a well-rounded graduate prepared to assume duties as a SOF Logistics Professional.
  • Provides curriculum oversight and support, as required, to the J4-sponsored JSOU Logistics Support to Sensitive Activities (LSSA) Course.
  • Two (2) years of SOF logistics experience at the operational level
  • Responsible for periodic briefing to the J45 Division Chief and the J4/Director of Logistics and/or the J4 Deputy Director of the goals, objectives, and requirements of the SOF Logistics Education Program and the academic courses it supports.
  • Minimum of one year of platform/instructor experience
  • Maintains, stores, distributes, and provides precise quality assurance of every educational product required for the Joint SOF Logistics Course (JSLC).
  • Up to 25% travel during the year.
  • Conducts periodic curriculum reviews ensuring lesson plans meet instructional design standards and content requirements and supports strategic planning for the development and delivery of curriculum intended to complement and enhance DoD Logistics Policy.
