Social Studies Teacher Jobs

Essex Westford School District has a full-time opportunity for a dedicated educator to join the team at Our Center for Technology to teach Social Studies beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. Anticipated courses include U.S. History, Public Issues, and American Government. EWSD is committed to considering out-of-state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state. Folks with experience working in another country, the ability to fluently speak more than one language, and/or peace corp. experience are encouraged to apply to help contribute to a diversity of thinking and grow our organizational practices.Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

• Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge and/or experience using backward design for lesson development, differentiated instruction to support all students, and formative assessment to provide student feedback and adjust lesson delivery.
• Dedication to providing students with a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in teaching U.S. History, Public Issues, and American Government is preferred.
• Ability to implement a focus on literacy across the content areas, and expertise in utilizing technology to support instruction.
• Hold, or be eligible to hold, a valid VT Educator license with a Social Studies endorsement (2-15). Individuals who hold a corresponding teaching license outside the state of VT will be considered equally.
