Job Summary


As a Social Media Specialist on the employee communications team in Human Resources, you will be focused on creating intentional, authentic, and engaging content, copy, and creative assets to amplify Cat Financial’s global employer brand across social media and other careers owned channels. You will uncover impactful employee stories and craft relevant and inclusive copy that resonates with our active and passive candidate audience. Strategically aligned with talent acquisition and communications teams across Cat Financial, your work will help to build awareness of Caterpillar and the Cat Financial division as an aspirational employer in our core markets. Cat Financial is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee with offices throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa.


What You’ll Do As a Social Media Specialist


  • Develop and launch comprehensive paid and organic social media campaigns centered around brand awareness, consideration, and conversion messaging.
  • Maintain community partnerships and identify new opportunities to build the Caterpillar brand in Nashville
  • Align the Caterpillar Careers channels (social, website, review sites & newsletter) with recruiting and hiring efforts and find unique ways to engage new candidate audiences.
  • Leverage your creative writing and content creation (video) skills to craft impactful content tailored to a passive candidate audience to create broader awareness of Caterpillar.
  • Analyze and measure data and key insights to enhance and optimize future content and campaigns based on audience engagement and trends.
  • Lead employee engagement campaign to increase organic social activity from Cat Financial employees and executive leaders
  • Contribute to the development of a Cat Financial public relations strategy to support the company’s goals around attracting talent
  • Curate and share original social media content (Cat Financial LinkedIn and Caterpillar owned accounts) that will spotlight employee stories to promote global recruitment marketing and employer brand initiatives with our international candidate audience
  • Deepen the relationship with key stakeholders (Talent Acquisition, Hiring Managers, Department Managers, Global Marketing, Caterpillar Employee Brand team, and PR) as well as collaborate cross functionally on content objectives, strategy and stories.


What You’ll Bring


  • At least 2 years of experience in Social Media Marketing with a focus on developing both paid and organic content.
  • Passion for creative writing, storytelling, and developing unique, original content (inclusive of video) for various media platforms and audiences.
  • Experience in writing engaging and robust social copy for various campaigns and initiatives for distribution across multiple channels and geographies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Energy and excitement for creating a best-in-class employer brand and the ability to create a strong social presence and followership.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working with social media scheduling tools
  • Experience with public relations and community engagement
  • Experience with live stream platforms, editing social videos and being on-camera
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, always changing environment
  • Strong sense of internet culture and trending content
