Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) SMC Annex/Utility group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Shift Supervisor.

Our team works on-site 9x80/4x10 schedule located at our SMC facility with every Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manufacture a high-quality product while maintaining a safe work environment. Ensure the manufacturing equipment is operated within the safety design basis and environmental permits.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to safety isolation control procedure. Ensure through familiarity with policies and procedures relating to the standards of Conduct of Operations.
  • Maintain accountable for asset management and budgeting to ensure facility, equipment, and operating procedures are adequate and ready to carry out the SMC mission.
  • Train and motivate subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.
  • Function as a Shift Supervisor for authorizing and monitoring work performed in assigned facility.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in performance of traditional management duties including selecting and training employees, work assignments, pre/post-job briefings, walkdowns, coaching, motivation, disciplining, problem solving, performance appraisals, and salary and merit/promotion considerations.
  • Ensure the documentation of a well-trained and qualified work force.
  • Lead all aspects of operation activities to ensure the facility is operated safely and in full compliance with all laboratory requirements, federal and state regulations, orders, and permits.
  • Exercise leadership by providing clear directions, empowering employees, properly delegating responsibilities, recognizing and acknowledging contributions of others.
  • Ensure the principles of the Integrated Safety Management System (ISM) are applied to all work.
  • Support compliance to programs such as VPP, ISMS, Contractor Assurance Program, Quality Assurance Program, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance.
  • Lead assigned crew to accomplish production tasks while complying with applicable environmental, safety, health, security, and quality requirements for the SMC Project.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MR0200: Bachelor's Degree in a related field with four or more years relevant experience in an operations facility or 12 years relevant experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
