The Shipping/Parcel Clerk primary function is properly receiving incoming inventory, timely staging and timely shipping outgoing orders while adhering to safety procedures and providing accurate, timely shipments.
Job Duties:
1. Prepares orders for small parcel shipments
2. Completes and accurately fills out all small parcel shipping documents
3. Ensure orders are prioritized
4. Assists in loading truck
5. Responsible for small parcel shift end reports
6. Verifies that all material is inspected, and proper bar code identification labels are affixed on boxes/containers before material is put away
7. Check and verify accuracy of picked orders and proper packing of cartons and skids
8. Prepare formal packing slips
9. Route shipments and prepare bills of lading
10. Review invoices and all notes on orders
11. Check inventory, pick/pack, and ship according to customer request
12. Tracks, traces, and updates the status of outgoing shipments
13. Maintains a clean and neat work area
14. Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately
15. Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments
16. Other duties as assigned
Skills and qualifications
• Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge in – Excel/Word/Outlook
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Familiar with material handling equipment – forklift & pallet jack
• Must be able to read/write in English
• Bilingual preferred
Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Shipping experience
Physical Requirements – Essential
• Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
