Job Description
Position: Skid / Crate Builder


Location/s: Tucker, GA


Duration: Contract to hire


Shift: 1st Shift


Pay Rate; $18.00/hr.


Benefits/Incentive: Insurance Offered (Medical, Dental, Vision, etc.)


Job Summary:


This position will work as a cross-functional team member working with multiple departments to complete the assigned task. The main areas the associate will work with is shipping, manufacturing, and warranty. Main task to include building pallets, threading pipe, and cutting raw material, and other task assigned.


Job Responsibility:


  • Cutting raw material (steel)
  • Ability to thread steel pipe
  • Building skids for shipping
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Include, but not limited to:


  • Help maintain 5S and cycle counting
  • Understand verbal, written, and engineering specifications
  • Build wooden skids/crates and ready parts/equipment for shipping on skids/crates
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a limited amount of time, within exceptional quality, and while following safety practices
Education/Experience: Include, but not limited to:


  • Trade school or other experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Include, but not limited to:


  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Obtain company forklift certification
Working Conditions:


  • Indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%) working conditions
  • Earplugs are provided
  • The facility is heated in winter and is air-conditioned in summer
  • Kneeling, squatting, bending over, and standing for long periods of time are required to perform assigned tasks
  • The employee must be able to stand on concrete floors for a minimum of eight hours
  • Can occasionally be loud, especially in local areas where grinding or machine testing is taking place
  • Typical manufacturing facility conditions
Other:


  • Safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes are required
  • Long pants and a sleeved shirt
Pre-Employment Requirements:


  • Applicants for employment must be a U.S. Citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Must pass a criminal background check (7-year felony + sex offender)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test (5 panels for recreational drugs and opiates)
