BAE Systems is seeking a Senior and Principal Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer.

The Senior/Principal Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer who will be developing and sustaining systems using current technologies and others yet to come. What You’ll Get To Do


  • Support and engage across Engineering and Agile teams by utilizing and teaching MBSE techniques and best practices.
  • Model’s operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures
  • Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.
  • Develops integrates and uses advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools
  • Simulates real-time operations and develops software that simulates behavior of systems
  • Support and engage in requirements development and functional allocation to hardware, software, operator and other segments and components of the ground based radar systems
  • Architect descriptive system models in UAFP, SysML, and UML using MBSE tools to define interfaces, logical and physical structures.


This position will be based in our Colorado Springs airport facility.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with CAMEO Modeler or similar modeling tool
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Technical documentation and analysis experience; proficient with Microsoft Office tool suite
  • Experience in Requirements Derivation, Traceability, and Management; DOORS or Equivalent Tool experience
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret
  • Experience developing new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control model
  • Experience with scripting language such as Apache Velocity Template Language (VTL) and Cameo AP
  • (Senior) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with 4 years of applicable experience; or 2 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with PhD
  • (Principal) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with 5 years of applicable experience; or 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with PhD
  • Experience developing system descriptive models using UAFP, UPDM, SysML, and/or UML



Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Familiarity or experience with Agile development methodologies, i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe
  • Familiar with basic principles and theory of electromagnetics and Radio Frequency (RF) propagation
  • Experienced with ground based radar system design, analysis, and test
  • Experienced with the design, analysis and architecture development of Radio Frequency (RF) systems
  • Experience with ANSYS STK
  • Experienced with RF microwave system design, analysis, and test

Salary Min $99,200 - Max $168,600
